Mani Dungdrub Project 24 - 31 December 2002

This years Mani Dungdrub project runs from 24 - 31 December 2002. The theme of the event is the “Universal Mantra of Compassion”. The target is to complete as many recitations of "Om Ma Ni Pad Me Hung" as possible, and dedicate the merit gained to world peace and harmony. The merit may also dedicate the merits to their Gurus and loved ones. Participants can recite the Mantra at the Centre or at home.

Chenrezig - (71kb)
The Six-syllable Mantra is the essence of Buddha Sakyamuni’s teachings and the compassionate wisdom of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas manifested as sound.

The Mantra recitation evokes the blessings of Avalokiteshvara, purifies defilements and relieves the sufferings of beings in the six realms - gods, demi-gods, humans, animals, hungry ghosts and hell. Each of the syllables also cuts the causes and
conditions to be reborn in each of these six realms. Whoever engage, keep, recite and absorb this mantra will perfect the six paramitas and purify all karmic obscurations. This will empty the six realms.

For the Mani Project, we need volunteers to help out the week long project and hence a duty roster will be put up on the notice board. Please contact centre if you think you are available to assist us during this period.

As you know, the success of this project requires personal devotion. The aim of this group chanting is to promote world peace, harmony and prosperity for our country and to foster/strengthen goodwill amongst Dharma brothers and sisters. We are thankful to be given this opportunity to be together to chant in unity the wonderful Mantra of Chenrezig.
