HE Chogye Trisen Rinpoche visit - 1998 and 2001

HE Chogye Trisen Rinpoche in 2001 visit (48kb)

The Karma Kagyu Dharma Society hosted a visit by His Eminence Chogye Trisen Rinpoche, one of the Shakya lineage of Tibetan Buddhism's most revered figures.

Chogye Trichen Rinpoche was visiting the Sakya centre in Kuching and co-incidently, HH 16th Karmapa's shrine master (Lama

Chopen Gyaltsen Lobsang) was in our centre at that time.
Lama Chopen paid a visit to Chogye Rinpoche and invited him to visit our centre, which he duly did. Whilst he was here, Chogye Rinpoche presented a personal donation of RM1,000 to the construction of the 3 new statues (Karmapa, Sakyamuni Buddha and Tara) in our KKDS centre.

In the year 2001, Chogye Trichen Rinpoche again visited the Sakya centre in Kuching. This time our Resident Rinpoche paid him a visit and invited Chogye Rinpoche to visit our centre again. Chocye Rinpoche again gave a personal donation of RM1,500 to our centre and mentioned a few times (through his translator) that "he and Shamar Rinpoche are the same" and he also mentioned that he always prays very hard for Shamar Rinpoche. After which he offered a silk scarf to a photo of Shamar Rinpoche in the shrine hall.
