Kuching Centre Mani Project - March 2001

Kuching Karma Kagyu Dharma Society (situated in East Malaysia) held a Mani project from 1 February to 31 March 2001. The event was initiated by the resident lama, Tsultim Gyaltso Rinpoche, together with 6 other lamas from Nepal.

The Six-Syllable Mantra -
Om Ma Ne Pad Me Hung

During this period, participants were encouraged to recite as many six-syllable mantra's of Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara) "Om Ma Ne Pad Me Hung" as possible. At the end of the event, it was hoped that a minimum of 100 million mantras could be achieved collectively by all Dharma friends, both locally and overseas. The merit from this project was dedicated for world peace, prosperity and racial harmony.

The lama's prepared precious Mani Pills for this occasion which were distributed to those who have completed the Mani mantra counting forms. Since this Mani Project is an auspicious and meritorious event, we actively encouraged Dharma brothers and sisters from elsewhere to join the Dharma friends in Kuching during the recitation.

Thanks from the Centre:

Kuching Karma Kagyu Dharma Society would like to thank all participants for their support and participation to make this event a success. Mani pills for participants are available for collection from both the Kuching and Singapore centres.

Without much experience, the committee planned and worked very hard for this meaningful project. Despite not being able to complete the 100,000,000 Mani mantras on time, the committee felt happy as they had gained much experience from the preparations. The Committee decided to make this a yearly event in the future.
